9 DAYS CLASSIC SOUTH AFRICA & VICTORIA FALLS
Kruger, Victoria Falls, Winelands & Cape Town
Nature & Wildlife
Start your journey in South Africa’s premier national park, the untamed Kruger as you search for the Big Five while staying in our carefully chosen private reserve. Thereafter, we visit the legendary Victoria Falls straddling between Zambia and Zimbabwe.
The journey continues into Cape Winelands, hub of South Africa’s blooming wine industry and some of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants. Finally, we conclude in the charming colonial town of Cape Town, fringed by the iconic image of Table Mountain and a not-to-be-missed journey across Cape Peninsula’s rugged coastline.
Arriving into Johannesburg, connect your domestic flight to a private game reserve within the greater Kruger National Park area. Relax at the lodge before departing for your evening game drive in search of nocturnal wildlife.
Enjoy morning and evening game drives tracking down Africa’s Big Five, comprising of elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos and buffaloes, as well as other interesting species. This is a real wilderness experience.
Depending on your flight time, you may enjoy another game safari at dawn before transferring on your flight to Victoria Falls. This evening, you will depart on a scheduled Zambezi River sundowner cruise. Be on the lookout for animals and birds!
Laying claim as the world’s largest waterfall, you will spend the day to enjoy a private tour of the mighty Victoria Falls from both sides (Zimbabwe and Zambia). Learn how it gets formed and the local custom traditions surrounding this legendary fall.
Checking out from your Victoria Falls hotel, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Cape Town. On arrival, your driver will transfer you to the stunning Cape Winelands area where you will spend two nights.
After hiking Mont Rochelle Nature Reserve (8km), part of UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, proceed to Stellenbosch at the heart of South Africa’s wine industry with over 106 cellars! Enjoy wine pairing with chocolates and 2h vineyard safari at the 120-hectare Waterford Estate.
This morning, we drive to Cape Town and ascend Table Mountain by cable car (weather permitting) for a sensational view of the city bowls.
Next, enjoy Cape Town tour with a specialist, visiting the Green Market Square, Adderley St. and Flower Sellers, Grand Parade, City Hall and Castle of Good Hope. Hear the stories of District Six, Bo-Kaap (Malay Quarter) and the slavery precincts of Slave Lodge, Slave Tree Site and Church Square. Continue to Company’s Garden where the Parliament, Tuynhuys and St. George’s Cathedral can be seen, as well as the historical newsmakers of Rhodes, Smuts, Mandela, Tutu and De Klerk
Finally, we transfer back to your hotel on the V&A waterfront area.
Today’s scenic Cape Peninsula route passes by Hout Bay, and if weather permits, a cruise to Duiker Island to view sea birds, black cormorants and seals. Head to Chapman’s Peak Drive, ascend by Funicular to the top of Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and visit Cape Point to admire the world’s most powerful lighthouse. After sumptuous lobster lunch, visit Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens to experience the treetop canopy walk. In the evening, you can enjoy dinner at Test Kitchen or La Colombe – both listed in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants at your own account.
Free time before we transfer to airport. Cape Town offers plenty of optional soft adventure opportunities such as hiking Lion’s Head, tandem paragliding and downhill scooter fun from Table Mountain, so if you have more time, we absolutely recommend extending your stay.
