Discover the vibrant and cosmopolitan city of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, also often referred to as the “Cidade Maravilhosa” or “Marvellous City”. The sprawling metropolis boats several iconic landmarks such as the Statue of Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf Mountain, and never fails to excite with its rich culture, colourful streets, and dynamic beaches.

Then, visit the magnificent Iguazu Falls, the largest waterfall system in the world and one of the New Natural Seven Wonders of the World. We end in Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, also known as the birthplace of the tango and a city of rich historical heritage.

Day 01 ARRIVAL IN RIO DE JANEIRO

Upon arrival in Rio de Janeiro, you would be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 02 RIO DE JANEIRO

Corcovado & Sugerloaf Tour (Full-Day)

Enjoy a full day city tour of Rio and visit its two most famous attractions, the Statue of Christ the Redeemer and Sugerloaf Mountain.

After a scenic drive along Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, arrive at the bottom of Corvocado Mountain (“Hunchback” Mountain) in the Cosme Velho district, from which you take a Cog Train ride to Corvocado’s peak (~710m). There, discover the Statue of Christ the Redeemer, one of the world’s most visited monuments, while enjoying breathtaking views of Copacabana, Ipanema, and the city of Rio.

In the afternoon, head to Urca neighbourhood, the base of Sugarloaf Mountain. Enjoy a scenic cable car up the first small peak, Morro da Urca (~215m), before taking another cable car to Sugerloaf’s summit (~396m). Soak in different and wonderful 360 panoramas of Rio, set against the scenic backdrop of the dense Tijuca forest.

Day 03 RIO DE JANEIRO

Secrets of New Rio & Santa Teresa Tour (Full-Day)

Admire the historical and modern architectural influences of downtown Rio and discover the new secrets of the city. Visit beautiful Cinelândia Square and take the “VLT”, a modern light rail vehicle which connects several points of the historic centre to the Port Zone, Rio’s newest waterfront hot spot.

Visit Museu do Amanhã and Museu de Arte do Rio (Rio’s Art Museum), and stroll along the Olympic Boulevard, specially renovated for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. At the Boulevard, discover the colorful Ethnicities mural, painted by Brazilian artist Eduardo Kobra. The mural holds the Guinness World Record as the world’s largest graffiti art.

After that, explore the lively Lapa district and the colourful, world-famous Selaron Steps. Then, we explore the bohemian Santa Teresa district, visiting the Ruins Park, Museu da Chácara do Céu, and Largo do Guimarães, where the best bars and restaurants are located.

Day 04 RIO DE JANEIRO / IGUAZU FALLS

Transfer: Hotel to Airport

After breakfast, you would be transferred to the airport for your flight to Iguazu Falls.

Flight: Rio de Janeiro to Iguazu Falls

Take a ~2 hours 10 minutes flight from Rio de Janeiro to Foz de Iguazu airport (Brazil).

Iguazu Falls (Brazil Side)

Discover the magnificent Iguazu Falls, one of the New Seven Natural Wonders of the World. It is the largest waterfall system in the world and the larger Iguazu area straddles three borders: Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay (Tres Fronteras).

Iguazu Falls itself is shared by Argentina and Brazil, with the Brazilian side of the falls best known for its sweeping panoramic views of the falls. Stroll along ~1.5 km of well-developed walkways and stop at different viewpoints along the way to appreciate the full grandeur of Iguazu. The trail ends at the spectacular Devil’s Throat, where you’ll be able to get up close to the falls’ mighty spray. Ride the glass elevator up to the upper deck for stunning views from the top.

Optional: Helicopter Flight over Iguazu Falls (Shared Basis)

To experience the falls from a new perspective high in the sky, embark on a thrilling helicopter adventure at additional cost. Lasting about 10-12 minutes, the helicopter takes you over the Brazilian side of the falls, accompanied by an English-speaking guide.

Day 05 IGUAZU FALLS

Iguazu Falls (Argentina Side)

The Argentinian side covers two thirds of Iguazu Falls and is best known for its extensive walking trails and the opportunity to get up close to the falls. There are two main circuits around the park and an additional four smaller circuits, including one to the Devil’s Throat, where you can admire it from above.

Explore the park’s trails at leisure or take the railway train to the start of the Devil’s throat trail through lush jungle. If you’re lucky, you may even spot a variety of fauna and flora, including Coatis (a member of the racoon family), Black Capuchin Monkeys, and Plush-crested Jays.

Gran Adventura Boat Ride

For a different perspective, embark on the exciting “Gran Aventura” experience, which is done in two parts, via a truck and boat ride.

You’ll first board a specially designed truck to traverse dense jungle, accompanied by bilingual guides, before boarding a boat for the next part of the adventure. Once on the boat, you’ll sail along river rapids on the Lower Iguazu River for an exhilarating ~6km.

As you approach the Tres Mosqueteros Falls (Three Musketeers Falls), a breathtaking view awaits you, crowned by the magnificent Garganta del Diablo (Devil’s Throat). Get up close to the falls and enjoy the thrill of getting drenched by the falls’ strong spray before heading back to the visitor’s centre.

Day 06 IGUAZU FALLS / BUENOS AIRES

You would be met and transferred to the airport for your flight to Buenos Aires.

Flight: Iguazu Falls to Buenos Aires

Take a ~6 hours 35 minutes flight from Foz de Iguazu (Brazil) to Buenos Aires, or a ~2 hours flight from Puerto Iguazu (Argentina) to Buenos Aires.

Arrive in Buenos Aires

Upon arrival in Buenos Aires, you would be met and transferred to your accommodation for the night.

Day 07 BUENOS AIRES

Buenos Aires Tour (Half-Day)

Discover the highlights of Buenos Aires, also known as the “Paris of South America”. Visit Plaza de Mayo, where the Government House, the Cathedral and the old Town Hall are located. Then, stroll along the colonial houses and cobbled streets of San Telmo, until you reach La Boca and colorful Caminito Street. We continue to Recoleta, the most elegant district in the city, before visiting La Recoleta cemetery, where notable Argentinian personalities such as Eva Perón lie buried.

Afternoon at Leisure

Continue to explore Buenos Aires at leisure in the afternoon, with optional tours at additional cost.

Option A: El Zanjón de Granados (1-hour shared basis with English speaking guide)

Discover the city’s architectural past through El Zanjon’s restored labyrinths and urban archaeology on the site of the first Buenos Aires settlement in 1536.

Option B: Teatro Colon (50-minutes shared basis with English speaking guide)

Discover one of the top 5 opera houses in the world, renowned for its spectacular design and exceptional acoustics. Visit the main areas of the theater such as the concert hall, the main foyer and the golden room.

Option C: HD Eva Tour (4-hours private basis with English speaking guide)

Learn about one of the most famous personalities in Argentina history – Eva Perón. We will visit May Square, where she gave her most celebrated speeches, the old Engineering School, the Recoleta cemetery, and the Evita Museum (open from Tues-Sun).

Dinner With Tango Show

Enjoy the creme-de-la-creme of Argentina’s premier musical art form – the tango – with the highly acclaimed Rojo Tango show. Located inside the exclusive Hotel Faena, the award-winning show traces the history of the passionate social dance and features an all-star cast of singers and dancers said to be the country’s best. Day 08 BUENOS AIRES

Excursion To Estancia (Full-Day)

Enjoy a full day excursion to a traditional Argentinian estancia (cattle ranch) for a glimpse into the Argentinian country life. There, you get to appreciate the Argentine Gaucho’s skills in horseback riding and cattle herding, try local empanadas (meat pastries) and succulent Argentinian barbecue. Gauchos are known as the cowboys of The Pampas and are Argentina’s national symbol of masculinity. Conclude the day with a folklore show with live music and dances.
