On arrival in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, you will be met and transferred to the hotel.
Our exciting 4WD Landcruiser convoy adventure begins! Set out on 6-hour drive towards Orkhon Valley, traversing through the endless expanse of the Mongolia rolling steppes.
Enroute, witness a mini Mongolian Naadam Festival organized just for us! It is comprised of three traditional games – Mongolian wrestling, horse racing, and archery, which have been played since centuries ago.
Today, we will explore Karakorum – the 13th century capital of the Mongol Empire. Visit the Karakorum Museum and the Erdene Zuu Monastery, probably the earliest surviving Buddhist monastery in Mongolia.
In our 4WD Landcruiser, we drive off the main roads and into the wilderness. The daylong journey unfolds as the lush greenery of the steppes gives way to the rugged, arid landscape of the Gobi Desert. Arrive and settle into your lavish ger for a 3-night stay.
Experience the beauty of the Moltsog Els Sand Dunes on camelback. Afterwards, visit the awe-inspiring Bayanzag, also known as the Flaming Cliffs, made famous by the 1920s Central Asiatic Expedition from the Natural History Museum of New York. In 1926, the expedition uncovered the first-ever fossilized dinosaur eggs (Protoceratops) here.
Immerse yourself in the nomadic lifestyle by learning how to build a traditional ger, trying your hand at archery, donning vibrant Mongolian attire, and enjoying a lively evening bonfire under the starry sky.
Transfer to Dalanzadgad Airport to take a domestic flight back to Ulaanbaatar.
Visit the Sukhbaatar Square to marvel at the imposing statues of Chinggis Khan, his sons, and other historical figures.
Proceed to The Chinggis Khan National Museum, Mongolia’s largest and most modern cultural institution, with over 10,000 artifacts spanning across eight floors, each dedicated to a unique chapter of the country’s rich and complex history. The museum offers a deep dive into the life and legacy of Chinggis Khan, the Great Khans of the Mongol Empire, and Mongolia’s fascinating journey through the centuries.
Visit the Gandantegchinlen Monastery, commonly known as Gandan Monastery, one of the most significant Buddhist sites in Mongolia.
Spend your afternoon at leisure, you may like to explore museums or enjoy some shopping time.
Then, mark the end of our journey with an enchanting evening of Mongolian cultural dance and musical artistry at our farewell dinner.
