On arrival in Lijiang Sanyi International Airport, you will be met and transferred to your accommodation.
Head to Baisha Old Town to admire the renowned Baisha Frescoes in Dabaoji Palace and gain insight into the daily lives of the Naxi people.
In the afternoon, enjoy VIP seating for the spectacular Impression Lijiang, an open-air performance set against the backdrop of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. This show highlights the ancient Dongba culture of Lijiang, the historic tea-horse trade route, and the folk customs of the local Naxi people through captivating songs and dances.
Return to your accommodation and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.</p>
Set out on a 1.5-hour drive to Tiger Leaping Gorge, situated between Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and Haba Snow Mountain, where the mighty Jinsha River flows through. Then, continue your journey to Tacheng, with a stopover at the First Bend of the Yangtze River along the way.
Upon arrival in Tacheng, check in to your accommodation and enjoy some leisure time to take in the surrounding views of terraced rice fields and the village.
After breakfast, embark on a 2.5-hour hike to the temple of Bodhidharma Cave, perched on the cliff of Elephant Trunk Mountain. According to legend, Dharma attained Buddhahood after meditating in this cave for 10 years.
Next, enjoy a picnic lunch in a quaint village, arranged exclusively for our group. Afterwards, visit Hada Village, where you’ll have the opportunity to make soy milk and tofu with a local family.
This morning, take a 3-hour drive to Benzilan. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch before visiting the Dongzhulin Monastery, a 17th-century Buddhist monastery that offers a scenic view of the Jinsha River, the upper reaches of the Yangtze River.
Then, continue with a 1.5-hour drive to your accommodation in Meili, where you can relax and soak in the picturesque views of the Meili Snow Mountain range at your leisure.
Witness the golden sunrise over Mt. Kawagarbo. Visit Feilai Temple and take a leisure walk along the road to the viewing platform, facing the Meili Snow Mountains.
Return to the lodge for lunch, then explore the surrounding village and visit a local family to learn how to print Tibetan prayer flags.
Leave Meili and embark on a 3-hour drive to Shangri-La, stopping en route in Nixi, a village renowned for its Tibetan black pottery.
Afterwards, continue to the Napahai Lake Natural Reserve, a sanctuary cherished by horses and numerous bird species.
Today, visit the renowned Songzanlin Monastery, the largest Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Yunnan province, often referred to as the “Little Potala Palace.”
In the afternoon, explore the 1,300-year-old Dukezong Ancient Town and catch a glimpse of the giant prayer wheel.
Conclude your journey in Shangri-La with a farewell dinner, accompanied by a traditional dance performance.
Transfer to Diqing Shangri-La Airport for your flight out.
