Departing from Sorong, you’ll cruise along some of the region’s most pristine and idyllic islands, including Mioskon Island, Cape Kri, Wofoh Island, Wayag Island, and Waigeo. Boasting dreamy beaches, lush forests and crystal-clear waters, Raja Ampat is stunning above and below water, and is bursting with amazing wildlife from rare, crimson-coloured Birds of Paradise to massive schools of fishes, sharks, manta rays, turtles, and colourful reefs.
The best time to embark on this adventure is from Nov to March.
Please note that the itinerary for Raja Ampat may vary depending on the selected shared sailing or private charter, the departure date, as well as sea and weather conditions.
Upon arrival at Sorong in West Papua, you will be transferred to Swiss-Belhotel Sorong to rest and relax. Embarkation on Aqua Blu is at noon, after which you cruise to Mioskon Island.
Arrive at stunning Mioskon Island in the morning, and head out for a relaxing snorkelling and diving excursion in its pristine waters. Look out for schools of colourful Napolean Wrasse, yellow snapper, sweetlips, and Wobbegong sharks.
In the afternoon, we kayak in “the Passage”, a narrow passing between the picturesque Waigeo and Gam Islands. There, enjoy views of mangrove-fringed bays, and look out for passing saltwater crocodiles, hawksbill turtles and hornbills.
Wake up to melodious birdsong on an early tender tour of Kabui Bay’s magnificent karst cliffs. After breakfast, we cruise to Cape Kri, where we snorkel or dive in its famously and amazingly biodiverse waters, at a site known to hold the world record for most species spotted in a single 90-minute dive. Come face to face with massive schools of snappers, batfish, surgeonfish, cardinals, and fusilier, as well as barracuda, reef sharks, manta rays, and sea turtles. Fans of macros will also have plenty to see, with nudibranch, shrimps, pygmy seahorses, and octopus galore.
Sail onwards to Yangeffo Island, where we go on another exhilarating afternoon dive at Mayhem reef. Alternatively, you may enjoy sunset cocktails on a tender tour of the surrounding mangroves. Dine underneath the stars once you’re back onboard.
Explore Aljui Bay, which lies on the northwestern tip of Waigeo, and visit a working pearl farm. Later, we head off to Wofoh Island, made up of two small, beautiful islands connected by stretches of untouched coral reef and pristine beaches, for more diving and snorkelling. Discover the region’s vibrant underwater wonders before engaging in water sports in the afternoon.
Witness the magnificence of incredibly picturesque Wayag Island’s limestone islets and lagoons as the sun rises. Enjoy an early morning swim in the region’s turquoise waters and attempt to spot the rare Birds of Paradise; the secluded Eden is yours to enjoy and explore with nary another soul in sight.
We then continue to Figure Eight Rock to dive and enjoy snorkelling at the Ranger station to spot black tip reef sharks. In the afternoon, explore hidden lagoons aboard kayaks at “Castaway” beach.
Sail to Dayang Island for a chance to witness the graceful Reef Manta Rays and the occasional Oceanic Manta Rays in action. Snorkelers and divers alike will revel in the close presence of the majestic creatures at the Manta Cleaning Station. Afterwards, cruise to Arborek Island, a hidden gem, for an authentic cultural excursion at a local Papuan village.
Embark on a sunrise excursion to Waigeo Island, which impresses with scenic bays, towering cliffs, lush jungle, and plentiful diving. We trek Waigeo’s wild jungle interior in search of the endemic, crimson-coloured Birds of Paradise, before enjoying a relaxing snorkel excursion at Friwinbonda Island.
In the afternoon, embark on a canoe adventure heading inland, before we take a refreshing swim down the shimmering blue Kali Biru river.
On your last day, we arrive back at Sorong harbour. After breakfast, disembark around 6:30am, after which you will be transferred to Domine Eduard Osok Airport for your onward journey or flight home.
