Family Travel, Outdoor & Adventure, Nature & Wildlife
Arriving into Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be transferred into your accommodation in Arusha to rest.
Depending on your interest and flight arrival time, we can arrange an insightful 1-hour coffee estate tour (additional cost applies) to learn how coffee is grown, harvested, dried and produced.
You will be transferred to the airstrip for your flight to Manyara. Upon arrival, you’ll be driven to your accommodation in the greater Ngorongoro area. This spectacular crater, formed from a collapsed volcano, provides a stunning backdrop to the densest wildlife population in Africa.
For active guests, take the opportunity to enjoy some hiking. You can hike to the top of Olmoti Crater for breathtaking views or descend to the soda lake in Empakaai Crater.
Please note: This activity is only available for guests aged 12 and above.
For younger guests (under 12) or those preferring a less strenuous activity, a visit to the Maasai tribe offers the chance to learn about their daily life, rich traditions, and fascinating customs.
Today, you’ll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day game drive, where you’ll encounter an abundance of grazing herbivores and the predators drawn to this rich supply of prey. It’s not uncommon to spot the Big Five in a single day, including the endangered black rhino! Nearby, Lake Magadi is also home to large flocks of vibrant flamingos, adding to the incredible wildlife experience.
Today, you’ll fly from Manyara airstrip to a remote camp in the Serengeti, one of Africa’s most breathtaking national parks. The Serengeti is home to millions of hoofed animals and an impressive array of apex predators, offering a truly unparalleled wildlife experience.
The Serengeti is renowned as one of the world’s premier national parks, offering unmatched wildlife viewing opportunities. Experience exhilarating morning and evening game drives, where you’ll track down Africa’s Big Five—elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos, and buffalo—as well as other fascinating species.
Depending on the season and the movement of the Great Migration, you may also witness millions of wildebeests, alongside hundreds of thousands of zebras and gazelles, in what is considered one of nature’s greatest wildlife spectacles.
Today, we fly from Serengeti airstrip to Rubondo Island, a remote island on Lake Victoria.
Option 1: Chimpanzee Trekking
Rubondo Island, nestled in Lake Victoria, is a pristine forest haven where you can embark on an exciting adventure with your ranger to track wild chimpanzees in their natural habitat.
The best time for a chimpanzee safari in Tanzania is from June to September and December to February, when the trails are less muddy and the vegetation is sparser, offering better chances to spot these elusive primates.
Please note: This activity is only available for guests aged 12 and above.
Option 2: Boat Safari on Lake Victoria
For younger guests (under 12) or those seeking a more relaxed experience, a boat safari on Africa’s largest freshwater lake can be arranged. As you explore Rubondo Island’s lush evergreen foliage, keep an eye out for diverse birdlife, spotted-necked otters, and even forest elephants!
Flight: Rubondo to Arusha
Transfer to the airstrip for your flight back to Kilimanjaro, where you will connect to your return flight home.
