Arriving in Chiang Mai International Airport, we transfer to your hotel. If time permits, this afternoon you can choose from one of the below two tours:
Option A: Chiang Mai Old Town on Pedal-Powered Trishaw
Visit Three Kings Monument, Wat Phra Singh and sunset at a local temple. Witness the monks’ soothing evening chants and join the devotees to light incense and candles, believed to offer good luck and health.
Option B: Off-the-Beaten Spiritual Gem
Explore the old city’s crumbling city walls with views of pagoda spires, enjoy monk blessing at the secret Wat Phalad jungle temple and follow the naga-carved staircase to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep’s 14th century gilded stupa with view of Chiang Mai and magical evening monks chanting.
Chiang Mai
Option A: Local Creative Community Experience
After a refreshing herbal drink at Ontai Community village, learn how to grow organic vegetables and collect fresh herbs for your delicious farm-to-table lunch. Hop on a local truck visiting a silk weaving centre for DIY natural tie-dye, the village’s oldest temple with a 500-year-old chedi, a holy mineral well, and a local ceramic and pottery-maker if available. Conclude at Chiang Mai Art Museum and a local art café.
Option B: Hilltribe Trek & Bamboo Rafting (trek 2.5h easy/medium; raft 1.5h easy; min. 10 years)
Hop on 4WDto Mae Malai hill tribe market where exotic vegetables and fruits are sold. Trek from remote Baan Thong Youa village, learn about hill tribes previously famed for opium trade, observe Lahu tribes’ daily lives at Baang Phong Ngan village, and enjoy bamboo rafting down the river paddled by a local boatsman with lucky encounter of bathing buffaloes.
Option C: Doi Inthanon Karen Hilltribe & Waterfalls Hike (trek 2h moderate/difficult, min. 13 years)
Hike to a Karen long-neck hilltribe village. Meet the locals for insights into their traditional customs and work at a mountainside coffee plantation. Continue deeper into the forest with glimpses of mountain peaks and streams, while keeping your eyes peeled for lucky encounters with gibbons, deers, wild boars and 350+ bird species, before concluding at the 70-metre Wachiratharn Waterfall.
