Picture the whitest of white sand topped by swaying palm trees, strung like tiny like jewel onto dreamy atolls, seemingly afloat on the turquoise lagoon, where time ceases to exist, and the voice of the Indian Ocean beckons you to her shores.
This is the Maldives, an island nation sitting across the equator, with 1200 clustered islands in 22 atolls. A trip to the Maldives can be aptly described as a trip to paradise on earth. Better, imagine this as the setting to some of the best luxury resorts in the world, with beach-front rooms, over-water villas, or even your own private island retreat, promising complete seclusion.
Beneath the surface, the Maldives explodes into colours. Blessed with 250 species of coral teeming with 1000 species of fish, among the likes of manta rays, sea turtles, and whale sharks which called the Maldives home, snorkel and divers will be equally enchanted by the colourful marine life.
Whatever excites you, be it the idyllic lifestyle or endless opportunities to observe marine life, our Travel Specialist will show you the best options.
The best time to visit the Maldives is between November and April when it is sunny and dry. The low season starts from May to around October with chances of rain but the special offers from the resorts during this period make it an attractive time to visit still. If you plan to snorkel with the whale shark, visit from May to October.
